Resources Quick-Start Guide

Upload a single resource (up to a 120 MB size limit)

  1. Click Resources in the tools menu on the left.
  2. Click the Add drop-down menu to the right of the folder name.
  3. Click Upload Files and browse to find your file.
  4. Click the Upload Files Now button in the lower left.
  5. Once your file is uploaded, use the Actions drop-down menu to edit or upload a new version of the resource.

Upload multiple resources or a single file larger than 120 MB

  1. Click on Upload-Download Multiple Resources at the top of the frame for instructions relevant to your operating system.
  2. Use WebDAV to drag and drop files into folders.

Hide folders from student view

  1. Click the Actions drop-down menu to the right of the folder name and select Edit Details.
  2. Under Availability and Access, select Hide this folder and its contents.
  3. Make the necessary changes.
  4. Click Update.

Designate folders for specific groups

If the specific group(s) already exist(s), skip to step 6.

  1. In the Site Editor tool, select Manage Groups.
  2. Click Create New Group.
  3. Enter the group name in the Title box.
  4. Select the desired group members from the Site Member List and move them into the Group Member List using the right arrow (>).
  5. Click Add at the bottom of the page.
  6. Click Resources in the tools menu on the left.
  7. Click the Actions drop-down menu at the right of the folder and select Edit Details.
  8. Under Availability and Access, select Display this folder and its contents to selected groups only.
  9. Check the desired group(s) you wish to make the folder accessible to.
  10. Click Update.

Set permissions for all resources

  1. Click Resources in the tools menu on the left.
  2. Click Permissions at the top of the frame.
  3. Check the appropriate boxes for the permissions you wish to set and click Save.

Note: If there is a conflict between the permissions you set here and those within a folder, the highest access permissions you set here will supersede the folder-level permissions. For example, if you allow students to upload new resources at this level, they can then add resources in any individual folder. However, you may deny students the ability to upload new resources at this level and then grant this permission within individual folders.

Set folder permissions

(See important note in Set permissions for all resources below)

  1. Click the Actions drop-down menu to the right of the desired folder and select Edit Folder Permissions.
  2. Check the appropriate boxes for the changes you wish to make and click Save.

Find the URL of a file within Resources

Right-click on the name of the resource and select Copy Link.

Move items(s) to a different folder

  1. Click Resources in the tools menu on the left.
  2. Click the folder containing the item(s) you want to move.
  3. Check the box next to the item(s), either file(s) or folder(s), that you want to move.
  4. Click Move at the top of the resources list.
  5. Click the clipboard icon Picture of the clipboard icon next to the folder you want to move the item(s) into.

Tip: If you own more than one site, you can move resources between sites using this method. To do so, click Show other sites at the bottom of the resource list.

Check current storage space available

You can currently store up to 2GB of content per site. To check how much space is used and is available:

  1. Click Resources in the tools menu on the left.
  2. Click Check Quota at the top of the frame.
